The Department of Electronic Engineering in Inha University was established, in 1963, to meet the growing demand for expertise in this field. Since then, the department has grown to 17 faculty, approximately 500 undergraduate students and 90 graduate students, to make it one of the largest and most important academic departments at Inha University. The award winning department was recently recognized as Most Honorable Department of all Electronic Engineering Departments in Korea, in nation-wide university evaluations by the Korea Education Ministry. Both, undergraduate and graduate programs within the department have received praise in both, the recent evaluation and earlier surveys.
The Department of Electronic Engineering offers Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy Degrees in Electronic Engineering. The undergraduate program, in addition to providing a solid foundation in engineering principles, is a certified program by the Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea.
As well, the Department of Electronic Engineering has several large and active research programs, the department has faith will make a significant contribution to our society and industry.
This department is charged with the mission to foster exceptional engineers, endowed with the knowledge of essential technology and theory in advanced electronics. To achieve this emphasis is placed on cultivating the student's ability to conduct creative research, solve problems with analytical skills and broad knowledge of theories, and adapt to professional work environments through experiments and industrial field practice.
Fundamentally, the Department of Electronic Engineering strives to offer the best education for its students, through the following precepts:
- To foster professionals who have creative thinking and practical application through the essential and advanced knowledge/technology in Electronics.
- To foster engineers who are very cooperative and active in academy and industry.
- To promote contributions to the development of national and local industries within the electronic engineering field with a high sense of moral and social responsibility.
- To establish scientific status comparable to leading international research groups
This program aims to foster professional engineers and advanced researchers :
who have a spirit of enterprise and vision for the future
who possess scientific and creative thinking skills
who excel in problem-solving, for all stages of research and development
who possess leadership abilities and understand the international importance of engineering
who take the lead in original and innovative research projects
who have acquired the fundamental theories in electrical and electronic engineering to lead in development of new technologies
who achieve research task achievement within teams/groups and through joint research activity
To achieve the goals described above, the curriculum of the Department of Electronic Engineering is designed in accordance with the criterion of Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea.

Vision after Graduation
The placement percentage for graduates reaches almost 100% every year. Most graduates go on to graduate school or work in industries related to electric and electronic engineering. They advance mainly to national research institutes or commercial research institutes, or other development facilities in the fields of electronic, semiconductor, communication, and physics.
