Inha Graduation Certification System

Inha Graduation Certification System

Inha University has implemented the 'Inha Graduation Certification System for English' which recognizes students who have acquired specific levels in the field of English.

In regards to this system, Inha plans to implement an expanded Inha Graduation Certification System, adding other fields such as, 'Inha Graduate Certificate in International Theory', 'Inha Graduate Certificate in Invention', 'Inha Graduate Certificate in Public Service', and 'Inha Graduate Certificate in Information Technology'. Students will benefit tremendously from the certification system as it is well-known that companies and government organizations require job candidates to have official confirmation of good scores in English and computer proficiency tests, as well as a second foreign language, good personality, and creativity.

With the expansion of the Inha Graduation Certification System, we expect to raise our graduates’ professional credibility by showing they possess essential abilities in the fields of English and computer science, thus helping them to gain greater job opportunities. We ask the students of Inha to understand the purpose of this system and prepare themselves accordingly. The Division of Academic Affairs promises to make every endeavor to make the campus the best place for studying and learning.

FAQ(Frequently Asked Questions)

Q. I entered the school in 1999 as a sophomore transfer student, was removed from the school register, and was allowed to re-enroll as a freshman. Am I still subject to the Inha Graduation Certification System?

A. The Inha Graduation Certification System applies to students admitted in year 2000 and onwards and transfer students in 2002 and onwards. (In other words, the system applies to students with a student number of 2000 and afterwards, thus nothing to do with which year a student is in).

Q. I have already earned special credits with my test score on the test or license at an outside institution. Do I still have to apply for Inha Graduation Certification?

A. If you earned credits by test scores for English (TOEIC, TOEIC SPEAKING, TOEFL, TEPS) or licenses for computing (Data Processing Engineer, EDPM System Application Engineer) earned at an outside institution, you have automatically met the requirements of Inha Graduation Certification. Therefore, you just have to check with your department or college to ensure you have met the criteria without having to file a separate application. (it will be processed automatically.)

Q. I have never taken any authorized English test or Trial TOEICs. What should I do now?

A. Since you don't have any authorized English test scores, you are not eligible to apply for the Practical English course. For graduation, you should take the authorized English test and submit the report showing a grade which exceeds the qualification score.

Q. Can I get the Inha Graduation Certification with a report card of the Trial TOEIC conducted by Language Training Team?

A. Submitting a report card of the Trial TOEIC conducted by Language Training Team only guarantees that a student is allowed to apply for the Substitution System for Graduation Certification. It doesn't mean that students will obtain the Inha Graduation Certificate immediately.(Term of validity is 2 years)

Q. If I haven’t met the criteria for Inha Graduation Certification and am not able to graduate, what is recorded on my school record?

A. Your school record will say that you have completed the program of your major until you meet the criteria for graduation certification, and will have conferred on you a degree, with the date of graduation being the semester where you have met the graduation criteria.
